Operational Area:
BVC's charitable aim is to promote and undertake charitable activities in Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding area.

Services include:
Opening Doors - a supported volunteering project for people who have extra support needs such as mild learning disabilities.
Reaching Out - a project to support people who have experienced mental ill health and who want to get involved in volunteering in their local community.
Community Transport - Bury St Edmunds Volunteer Cetnre operate the Community Transport (CT) Service using our own vehicles and volunteer drivers.  Accessible vehicles are available for hire to community groups who subscribe to the Volunteer Centre.
Dial-A-Ride - this is funded by Suffolk County Council and operated by us with volunteer drivers and assistants.  This is a local transport service for the mobility impaired, frail elderly people and people unable to use conventional buses.
Wheels within Wheels - operated on behalf of Suffolk County Council providing a door to door service for wheelchair users, people rurally isolated by public transport, using a specially adpated vehicle.
Criminal Record Bureau Disclosure Service - for groups in the Bury St Edmunds area.
Training Room Hire - a conference / meeting room with facilities for making refreshments, accessible toilet, overhead projector, screen, flip-chart, television/video combo. 


We can help groups by:

• advertising voluntary opportunties to recruit volunteers
• providing information, guidance and training in volunteer management
• training for volunteers
• providing groups of volunteers or individuals for short term projects.
